Plastic Construction Model Kits
Monogram (founded 1945, based in the United States) released a series of licensed Gobots related model kits bearing little resemblance to the original toy line figures.
Each kits is a replication of, or has been replicated by another company at around the same time.
The Turbo kit was released almost identically as Dashbots Ferarri upsized by a thrid in a non-kit version by Up-Right Manufacturers Inc. The Cy-Kill and Leader-1 are Macross copied kits released in Japan. The Spay-C and Royal-T kits were first released as kits in Japan by Grand Model Co. These and other models from Grand Model were also released by Buddy L as assembled toys for their Robo Tron line; see Royal-T example below.
There were many instances where toy companies were unknowingly sold identical moulds, prototypes and concepts from especially Chinese agencies. Other times companies producing short run toy lines sold moulds to other companies who reused them.
We may never know how these designs ended up released by Monogram, Buddy L and Up-Right Manufacturers Inc.

[larger kits] both kit sculpts are almost identical with the Turbo-Teen version having the Trans-Am kit instruction sheet issued with it rather than a specific one created. This does mean the KIT number on the instuction sheet (6109) does not match the KIT number on the box (6108). The Turbo-Teen version ties in with a 1984-85 US 13 episode American animated series by the same name.
