'Change Robo / Variation Robo'
The first four models released by Buddy L for Robotron were also sold by Grand Model in Japan. These kits also included the pull back motor gimmick.
While it's suspected Buddy L purchased the same models from Grand Model it's not confirmed. It's quite possible Grand Model also manufactured the Buddy L line with the sticker sheets showing the same 1 to 4 numbering and the Robotron figures stamped, 'Japan'.
So far a Grand Model release of the Harrier Jump Jet or Space Shuttle has not been identified.
The Harrier and Shuttle models have been linked to a release by Japanese company Crown. At this time it's not clear whether there's connection between Crown and Grand Model. As some of the text and formatting on
both Grand Model and Crown packaging matches, it's possible they may be the same company or one became the other.
A Japanese release for the Fairlady 300ZX has not been found. It's quite likely that Grand Model released all of the models issued by Buddy L and examples are yet to be sighted.
Box text reads, 'Easy to make! No adhesives needed! Runs with spring (windup)!!'
See the Robotron main index for further details.
