The Convertors Walkie Talkies were sourced for SELECT from company Tai Fong TS-558 in Taiwan. Tai Fong were a supplier / distributor and not the original designer for the toy. At this time the original creator is unknown.
The Walkie Talkies are largely the same sculpt as the Convertors Robot Reporter AM Radio with the walkie talkie antenna taking place of the AM radio's shoulder mounted weapon.
The Robot Walkie Talkies have been placed in the Series 2 / 1985 group due to other transforming robot walkie talkies, radios and like electronic toys being released in different toy lines around this time. The model and packaging is dated 1984, however this is the patent date and doesn't reflect the actual date of distribution. An actual distribution date is not clear.
The acutal toy name is still unknown as a boxed example hasn't been sighted. If you know the name of these Walkie Talkies please get in contact!
