Zybots Combiner
Most 80's, long running, mode changing robot toy lines eventually released a combiner. Some come together from robots clearly designed to be combined... others don't. Zybots Multiforce is firmly in the latter group.
Made up from six of the ten Zybots Changeable Robots models, Multiforce is half robots in alt mode and half extra bits to hold it together. There are eleven connecting parts and seven chromed weapons; five mouned and two handheld.
Is it ugly and weird? Arguably. It does have a, 'well you tried' charm, certainly more solid than Transformers Gen 1 Devastator and at 23cm / 9" is quite large. It features articulation in the arms, waist, head and mounted weapons.
It's fair to presume that Multiforce was a reactionary addition to the Zybots toy line in the hope of capturing a little more of the robots that change into things market; even if that was at the modest budget end.

Zybots Combiner FR Remco distributed by Delavennat 1985
NOTE: the black Pickup issued in Multiforce sets has a slightly thinner tray than all other black versions. While both the 'XZ' and pink side sticker versions were supplied, all had the thinner tray to allow it to fit into the Multiforce frame. Other distributed black Pickups with the same stickers do not fit the frame. The same thinner tray moulds were used for the New Changeable Robots 19 Blue Bomber that does fit.

For added fun; if you shine a light into the hole in the top of its head the eyes light up!
