Advanced Changeable Robots / Changeable Robots
Trac was created by REMCO for the Zybots toy line and first released under the title, 'Zybots Advanced Changeable Robots'.
After the first six figures were released REMCO reissued them with four new figures under the reduced name, 'Zybots Changeable Robots'.
This also saw a change from photographic card images to illustrated character art. A red and yellow cardback theme was adopted that remained for the rest of the Zybots run and was carried over for the Bibots distribution.
Prototypes in vehicle mode were photographed for the initial Advanced Changeable Robots 01 - 06 figure run. In some instances their Gobots parts origins are more obvious than other; Trac's chest is a good example.
The robot mode prototype for Trac was cobbled together from a Gobots Buggyman front body section and wheels attached to Trac's legs and was called 'Tractor Trailer-04'. The vehicle mode prototype was also constructed from modifed Gobots parts, largely Road Ranger.
It's likely marketing were supplied the prototypes to speed up cardback production in the hope of capitalising on the transforming robot toy market boom as soon as possible.
See main Zybots and Bibots index page for more details.

Zybots Advanced Changeable Robots 04 US/IT/FR Remco 1984
There are three paint application variations. One has dark red inside the black rectangles above the waist sticker, one light red and the other no red paint at all leaving the blue paint showing. All three can be stampped stamped Macau or China however it's currently not clear whether the no red paint version was unique to the first, Advanced Changeable Robots release.
The dark red paint application version can be seen in the on card example and the image showing Trac in both modes.
For the white and blue version see the Zybots NEW Changeable Robots section.
Stamped China on one thin leg strut or Macau where the struts join. Some also show stamping on the removable tailer box.
