NEW Changeable Robots
Lil Yellow was designed by REMCO specifically for the Zybots NEW Changeable Robots figure series.
As with most NEW Changeable Robots it was released in more than one colour scheme. While many saw sticker variations, Lil' Yellow was issued with the same on both colour versions. As an on card version of the green Lil' Yellow has not yet been sighted, it's unknown if the name was changed to Lil Green to match.
This model was later reissued for the Bibots line in lighter yellow plastic with darker blue paint. The problem with the legs was not addressed.
See main Zybots and Bibots index page for more general details.

Unknown Variant Pictured below is an unknown variant Lil' Yellow that does not include the exhaust pipes, has a variant chest sticker and the eyes aren't painted. At time of writing, this is the only example sighted and may be a prototype or hardcopy. The standard Lil' Yellow's leg design has a fault. While it appears the exhaust pipes should slip behind the lower legs it isn't possible. Even if it were, the notches in the lower legs for the upper body to seat into would only permit it to rest in place. It's likely the idea was for the exhaust pipes to provide a spring load pressure to lock the lower legs in place but they're either too thick / slightly too far forward in robot mode for this to work. This makes Lil' Yellow extremely difficult to stand up. As the exhaust pipe version was later used for the Bibots release, it's assumed the no exhaust version was either a prototype that later had the exhausts added or a production design that was quickly updated early in the NEW Changeable Robots run. For now it's a mystery.
Lil' Yellow appears to be based on a 1984 Suzuki LT50 that was designed for child size use making sense of the Lill' name. The LT50 doesn't have exhaust pipes further suggesting they may have been added for structural purposes vs being removed.
