Zybots II
Hi-Flyer was created by REMCO for the Zybots toy line and released under the title, 'Zybots II'.
This three model series focused heavily on each toy having a gimmick to help capture buyer interest.
Hi-Flyer is essentially a pull string helicopter toy that turns into a robot form. While many robot toys include a gimmick, Hi-Flyer is more a gimmick that turns into a robot. Hi-Flyer has no articulation specific to its robot mode.
While in helicopter mode it does fly well, unfortunately the spokes holding the rotor to the central pin are soft, thin plastic and prone to breaking.
It's not surprising Hi-Flyer is more novelty than dedicated robot toy. The rotor, launcher and parts of the helicopter were all previously used for the LHT Batman Batcopter released in 1982 and likely other similar toys; see below.
