'Powerful Living Rocks Face a Deadly New Peril'
The Tonka Gobots Rock Lords distribution included a pack-in mini comic with most of the toys released. There were two comics with the one below being the most common.
It was issued with Series 1 and 2 Rock Lords, Series 2 Narlies and both Rockasaurs. The second comic was sold with Series 3 Rock Lords, Jewel Lords and the Action Shock Rocks.
This comic appears to have been in production prior to the figures being finalised for retail. This is most notable with Slimestone who's appearance is based on one of the two prototypes vs. the final production version. Magmar has the axe mentioned on his blister card and Bolder has his sword, also described on his card. Both accessories neither of them were sold with; see specific figure pages for details. Other characters show either prototype colours or details not in the retail version.
There's an appearance and regular mention of the Stonehead fortress that Tonka had prototyped as a Rock Lords play set but didn't not put into production. The story set up Magmar having taken control of Stonehead from which he'll gain weapons and power to battle the good Rock Lords. The good Rock Lords are meanwhile using a structure called, 'Stronghold' as their base. Only a ground level entrance with to sets of ziggurat like stairs either side are seen. A prototype Stronghold play set is not known to have been created.
The comic also served as a catalogue by introducing characters and telling readers to, 'Watch for the ferocious Narlies coming soon to a store near you!'

Bolder's name is shown with the early US release and European/Australian spelling of, 'Boulder'.
