Abarar - Machine Robo Ganseki Chōjin
Ribcage as the figure's name suggests forms the chest and arms of the four part Rock Lords combiner Fossilsaurus. Tonka had intended to release these four figures as 'Fossil Lords'.
Even though Ribcage is a combiner part, it still pulls off making an okay monster on its own regardless of obvious connection elements. While it's certainly a more capable individual figure than some of the Monsterous components, it has the advantage of not needing to accommodate a second alt mode in addition to being a combiner part.
Weird Weapons Every example of Ribcage I've had in hand can't hold the oversized weapon properly. The hand socket is too small for the peg. While Ribcage is one of the two Fossil Lords that can lower its arm with the weapon in hand, the weapon seems to need to be rested on the upper arm as in the back of packaging photo. There's an extra T shaped grip under the weapon that A: rests it on the upper arm and B: according to the instructions is for carrying it when not in use. The prototype weapon was more an oversized handgun and doesn't seem to have these design elements. All four figures were redesigned before release and if it feels as if the weapon and figure modifications were out of sync; see prototype below.
As with the other three Fossil Lords, Ribcage was only sold as a combined set and not individually as Monsterous and Puzzler's parts were.
See main Rock Lords index page for more general details and Fossilsaurus page for combiner specifics.
