Battlerock - Ganseki Chōjin - 'Leader of the Good Superhuman Rocks'
When the figure was first released in Europe for Bandai's Robo Machine distribution the character's name was spelt, 'Boulder' matching the Gobots version. It was changed on re-release to, 'Bolder', presumably to make it easier to understand for the broad market in Europe with English not a primary language.
Boulder's prototype name was possibly 'Granite', or their names were swapped by mistake on an early promotional photo.
Gobots Packaging 'Brave and wise with a awesome physique, Boulder leads the defense of Quartex against Magmar's villainous plots. Boulder has rallied the remaining free kingdoms of the planet under his leadership. His fiery temper strikes fear into friend and foe alike. In the heart of the battle, he scatters enemies with stungun blasts and zaps them with his Power Sword*.'
Japanese Packaging Practical Translation 'He is a very smart and strong leader. He has an impact attack that on contact releases a special skill psychic flame. He is also skilled in the study of Space Fist, similar to karate. From his forehead he can fire the a Searcher Beam that can examine an opponent's abilities.'
Robo Machine Packaging (shared by all Series 1 and 2 figures and Saberstone and Spearhead) 'Rock Life has evolved upon the planet 'Quartex' in the form of rock "beings", each with their own unique abilities. Conflict exists between the forces of good and evil ROCK LORDS. But just like GOBOTS, good does not always prevail, sometime the evil side wins!'
* Even though the figure shipped with a gun. See Sticks 'n Stones notes for extra details.
