Catalogues such as this are commonly issued to retailers by toy companies showcasing new items soon to be on offer. Below is the Parasites excerpt from the 1985 Matchbox retailer toy catalogue.
As in this case, it wasn't uncommon for prototypes or very near production hardcopy examples to be used for these catalogues due to them often being distributed well in advance of the toy being finalised for production.
