Jumbo Jet Robo

Machine Robo Series MR-B747 (JAL)

Designed in Japan by Bandai as a promotional, in-flight release, Jumbo Jet Robo was only intended to be available to Japanese Airlines passengers with a production run reportedly limited to one thousand units.

The model was later issued the same year as a prize for the 'Battle Armor 5 Release Commemorative Quiz Campaign'. This re-use along with the frequency MR-B747 (JAL) is found for sale decades on draws the 'only 1000 produced' figure into question.

While clearly modeled in the 600 Series style, Jumbo Jet Robo was never releases as part of the Machine Robo Series retail line nor was it included in Bandai's European Robo Machine and Australian Machine Men distributions. The model was also not added to Tonka's US distribution under the Gobots banner.
