Henry Gordy International created a number of handheld games under license from Tonka for the Gobots toy line. They were the go to for slapping a licensed logo or a couple or character stickers on an existing, low cost product and selling it as something new.
Offering no autonomous power the player both steers the non-Gobots specific robot and moves the very short (one loop treadmill style) playfield by hand.
To advance the path players turn a knob that moves the playfield at no set speed. The packaging advertises, 'Turn rigid knob to make road move. The faster you do, the harder it is!' The inclusion of the word 'road', the steering wheel and the lower sticker all strongly add to the feeling it's a loosely repurposed item. Bar cosmetic changes the same game was released as 'Batmobile Racing Game', the 'The Flintstones Racing Game' and possibly others. The two games mentioned make use of the same lower sticker and carry the same instructions.
While a scoring system is printed on the packaging, as nothing prevents players ignoring the path entirely play relies heavily on honesty.
The paper scroll's printed image is surprisingly poor quality showing both Psycho in vehicle form and Leader-1 standing over his own alt mode. Unfortunately the inclusion of these images further highlights that the play area is repeating and extremely short.
All that said, if you forget it's meant to be a 'Racing' game, coordinate turning the knob and stay STRICKTLY in the middle of a path there's a little skill involved. So potentially re-titled as a slow paced skill game with instant destruction should you stray off the path then it has a certain playability. Still very much a make your own fun release.
