Second Australian Machine Men Promotional Comic and Catalogue
During the Australian Machine Men run a series of four comics was released via select toy retailers to promote the toy line.
The second issue, 'Space Wars II' is anecdotally remembered to have arrived at stores in time for mid years 1985 and also served as both comic and catalogue with a number of pages dedicated to the current to selection available.
While very loosely following the first issue, Space Wars II focuses heavily on the Super Machine Men toys sacrificing continuity for showcasing new products.
Unlike the first Space Wars comic, Space Wars II was released post the adoption of Gobots character names by the Machine Men line.
The art style is more traditional than that seen in the first issue and appears to be inked in pen and marker coloured.
A double page spread shows the current toy selection with an insert promoting a competition to win an Australian only, gold Baron Von Joy Super Machine Men figure. The character Baron Von Joy is also coloured gold in the comic.
