The Wendy's promotional Gobots are the only 600 series scale models designed by Tonka.
Unlike other like sized Gobots they were marketed for ages three and up compared to five and up.
While very basic in design they are sturdy and surprisingly well made for a food chain premium toy of this era. The figures came on a blister cardback that included a bio about the character (something the regular line could have benefited from) and sold for 99c US.
Region Codes Used: US United States - Location codes only shown where items were known to be released. This list is accurate yet likely to be incomplete.
Gobots US Tonka 1985 (Unconfirmed Release)
Gobots US Tonka 1986 (Wendy's Promotional Premium Toy)
Paper Instructions Booklet: It's unclear where and how the instructions booklet was issued as it did not come in the blister and does not mention the Wendy's restaurant. If you have any information please get in contact.
Wendy's promotion or not? Yes they were released at Wendy's Restaurants however much less common blister cards have been found that do not show the Wendy's logo at the top left of the card front. It's currently unconfirmed if these were a standard production run or how they were distributed; possibly a mail away competition, mail order product akin to Sears or regional distribution outside of the United States still using the Gobots brand.
Other variations include: different Tonka Model Number, Tonka Model Number not shown on the card front, Ages 5 and Up vs. 3 and Up, dated 1985 vs. 1986 and Character BIO not included on the card back.
