Commandrons / Super Alternators are a line of robot toys. Each has a
pull
back, wind-up motor that drives the rubber wheels in vehicle mode and in robot mode the feet letting them shuffle walk forward.
1985 Commandrons were released in America and Canada via the McDonald's
restaurant chain (99c US).
The Canadian release was in small, cardboard boxes with a card instruction sheet while the US release was on blistered cardbacks and included a mini-comic book from DC Comics.
1986 Commandrons were re-released in Canada as 'Super Alternators' with new, more generic names. They may also have been re-released in the US; this detail is not currently confirmed.
Commandrons / Super Alternators were manufactured in Singapore and Japan.
US Commandrons sported stickers with a double lined V whereas CA versions and the Super Alternators had a C symbol. Interestingly the proof of purchase coupon on the rear of the US cardbacks showed the C symbol and not the V.
