Supplied with the 'Goldstar 3DO Interactive Multiplayer' console the Goldstar GPA111M controller has a number of interesting features.
Overall it's a pretty standard directional pad with three action buttons, two shoulder buttons and a pair of start and select-like buttons.
But in addition to this the controller has a head phone jack with a volume control so you can fight the evil hordes without cheesing off everyone else in the room.
Another neat feature relates to the 3DO only having one controller port. Player one's gamepad is connected to the console and each additional gamepad connects to the back of the previous one in a daisychain affair of up to eight pads.
Not surprisingly the gamepad doubles as a controller for the 3DO's multimedia functions which is hinted at by the start and select buttons being labeled with symbols indicating stop and play/pause.
The Goldstar and Panasonic controllers for their respective 3DO consol releases are essentially identical in function and almost in form.
